Legacy Archive

Developed in partnership with the Northwest Montana Historical Society, the Legacy Archive at Discovery Square is a dynamic and evolving storehouse for our local heritage.  In secure vaults, precious local treasures are housed, cataloged, and professionally managed, to ensure they are preserved for future generations.

In 2010, the Legacy Archive was unveiled with the presentation of the Return of Joe Cosley exhibit. Showcasing the story of a local historic legend, the exhibit premiered during the 2010 Heritage Days event.

The Cosley exhibit will soon be moving on to the Museum at Central School in Kalispell, and then to permanent display at the Waterton Natural History Museum in Waterton National Park, Canada.

Although a tough story to follow, Joe’s Return will soon give way to Mountaineering in Glacier, a joint project of First Best Place, the Glacier Mountaineering Society, and the Museum at Central School. Stay tuned for more details about this great exhibit.
